Isolate came from Fortify. Using similar image making processes, I began looking at classical representations of assault, murder, and lament, including Giambologna's sculpture, Abduction of a Sabine Woman [1583], as well as Rembrandts Descent from the Cross [1633], and Michelangelo's Pietà [1499].
I played with chiaroscuro, manipulating the dough aggressively. Then, by massaging the dough in water, I refined the dough down to its most desirable attribute: gluten. This has been stretched across a frame and left to dry.
